HENRY CAVILL TALKS ABOUT HIS PERSONAL LIFE

"Life hasn't changed that much; I'm just working my socks off. Of course, I'm walking down the street now and then and someone will stop or you'll see the paparazzi or something ... there's a difference there, but it's all part and parcel and it's enormously flattering when people come up to me and want to take a photo." (source)

"When you're that highly strung and that trained-up, and you're playing a role like Theseus, you have trouble settling down at night. Then you've got to be up very early and do it all again. I got about five hours' sleep per night." (source)

"When you train (for Immortals) with guys and you're all eating nothing in order to be lean, there are those weekends. There's no point in going halfway. You're going to wake up with a terrible hangover and think, 'OK, thank God, I got that out of my system.'" (source)

[on letting his physique go for The Cold Light of Day] "I did it through pizza and burgers. I didn't even look at a scale." (source)

[on success rewards] "I flew down here on a private jet, for goodness' sake! I was sitting there with sushi from the best restaurant in Vancouver in these leather seats. I was thinking that this is just amazing. Those are the best moments." (source)

[on meeting Russell Crowe during boarding school] "I had been doing school plays and stuff and so I walked up to Russell and I asked him, you know, 'What's it like to be an actor?' And he said, 'Well you know it's great. Sometimes they treat you great, sometimes they don't. And the money's pretty good too.' And then everyone came running up and I waved, and I said, 'Quick, run!' Because they were all looking for autographs. And two days later I got a signed picture of him in Gladiator saying, 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.' At the end of that journey of a thousand miles, that first journey, he's there as well." (source)

"(I'm still) a geek but not a comic book geek." (source)

[on online gaming] "The great thing about that is you're playing against real people. There's a constant evolution. You're always adapting." (source)

[on Immortals' sex scene] "It's like any sex scene really. They're wonderful and sexy when you see them onscreen, but when it comes down to the actual act itself, you're in a room full of guys with cameras and it's not a very sexy experience." (source)

"Every day (in Vancouver MoS set), it is 3 a.m. to train and 5 a.m. to go to work." (source)

"This weekend has been absolutely fantastic because I finally got time to spend time with my family, which I haven't done." (source)

[on WonderCon & Comic-Con] "I just remember it being very long with a lot of interviews. … maybe I'll dress up as a Stormtrooper or something next year and have a walk around. I really want to experience and feel what that energy's like, because that's what everyone talks about and I didn't get a chance to see it." (source)

[on his reaction getting Superman role] "My smile was absolutely enormous. I was trying very, very hard to play it cool on the phone with Zack Snyder when he called me. I thought, 'Okay, play it cool. Not too cool, obviously. But, play it cool.' As soon as I hung up, I was leaping up and down and running up and down the stairs and roaring and shouting, and then trying to call everyone. No one picked up their phones believe it or not! Apart from my assistant. I eventually got through. I was trying to tell the news to everyone and no one was answering their phones!" (source)

"I dressed up as Superman this last Halloween. … I was (filming on Halloween, in costume), yeah." (source)

[on him & his family dressing up as Superman when the were kids] "Yeah! Yeah, I think all of my brothers did at some stage. I've even got photos of my little nephews in Superman outfits. Apparently, they went to school when I first heard the news. One of them was wearing a little Superman outfit and the teacher sort of told them off and then spoke to my sister-in-law after, saying, 'I don't know what's going on with the boys. I don't know what you've been telling them. They've been lying to me, because they're telling me that their uncle is Superman and frankly it's ridiculous.' Which brought my sister-in-law out there and she said, 'Actually, it's not ridiculous; he is (Superman). So you've got to let them wear their little outfits. Thank you very much.'" (source)

[on buying himself something rewarding after cast on MoS] "No, I didn't really. I haven't had time! As soon as I got the role, I was hopping backwards and forwards to L.A. for initial costume fittings and screen testing other actors and then it just all started. I've literally been head down, working hard and I haven't had time to think about buying myself something special yet. Maybe I'll think about something over Christmas. (source)

[on his feelings about his Immortals premiere] "I am incredibly excited. This is, you know, a combination of many many years' hard work and I've got my parents here, my brother here, and it is, you know, something I've been dreaming of for a long time, and I'm finally here!" (video source)

[on believing in fate] "No. But when I first saw my fiancée, the feeling I got was unique. But I'm not saying it was fate. I made that shit happen, for the record." (source)

"(I'm really into a woman) when I hate being away from her. And when I get excited when a text comes in." (source)

"I'm a giant softy, for sure, but I honestly think these days it's probably considered more masculine to be emotionally connected." (source)

[on public attention changing his personal life] "You can't spend your life worrying about what might be. You just get on with it and deal as it comes.  You've got to enjoy it. The other day, I went to see Real Steel and I saw a poster. I told (my friend), 'It's Immortals! Look!'. He said, 'Go and stand over there and I'll take a picture'. 'I'm not gonna go stand over there. What if someone sees you taking a photo of me in front of the Immortals poster!?' (laughs).  It's incredibly exciting. It really is. (source)

[on seeing himself as Supes on commercial products] "I met the guy who is making the action figures the other day, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience, but I was absolutely stunned by the whole experience, too. I was shaking hands with a guy who is making a toy out of me. I don't think there's any shame in being really excited about it. It's mega-weird, but as long as you don't get too wrapped up in it, it's great. And you know, I don't want it to end." (source)

[on women preference] "Blonde." (source)

[on cheating] "Deal breaker." (source)

[on favourite indulgences:] "Rice, pizza, drink. All the worst kinds of things you can imagine." (source)

"I've always fancied older women." (source)

"(My mother) was a house mum for years taking care of five boys, and now works as a secretary in a bank. Dad was a stockbroker, but keeps shifting jobs. I couldn't really tell you what he does." (source)

"It takes a strong woman to be with me because I'm always hopping around, and not always there. It's really tough." (source)

[on breaking up with a certain girlfriend] "Of course it's a two-way thing; you're both missing each other. I think it can be difficult for the other person because often there will be kissing and simulated sex, which I'm sure must be very hard to watch. With people like Brad and Angelina, they've been working for such a long time, I'm sure they have a certain understanding of each other and the job." (source)

"(Jersey) is a very small island —nine miles by five— and when I was 13, I was very eager to get off the island and go to boarding school. As much as I was very homesick, as soon as I left home, I was keen to get away. It's a beautiful place, absolutely stunning, and a wonderful place to visit. But growing up there, it's very small. I will always have a base there, because Jersey is a wonderful place. I think I'll probably raise my kids there one day, we'll see." (source)

"We love cuddling, too. Sometimes, after a big night out, you think, 'I just want a cuddle, we can do it in the morning'." (source)

"We think a mental affair is worse. Sending dirty texts and emails is a true betrayal. Men can have an emotional detachment from sex." (source)

"We like you giving us a pet name. An ex-girlfriend called me 'Pussycat', but it was in Italian so it sounded better!" (source)

  2. I think you are one of the best looking guys I have seen in my whole life, besides the fact that you are also a very capable actor (I have seen you in the Tudors). Your screen presence is amazing! You have all the qualities to become a big star. Don't ever underestimate yourself and as soon as you can afford to do so, choose your roles more carefully. Don't let producers/directors cast you just for your beauty. There is a lot more talent in you that meets the eye.
You would make a great Bond as you possess a more sophisticated look than Daniel Craig and if they could bring back a sense of humour to the Bond character, I am sure you would be cut out for it.
Good luck! although you don't need me to wish you that...
    Your great fan

  5. Hello Henry W.D.C,

YOU CAN READ IF YOU DARE.....! Just kidding Henry, you may actually read this or you may not. Possibility of you actually getting the time of day to read this message, maybe next to nothing. But it sure would be appreciated if you did, to know you took the time to acknowledge another person who wrote to you and who has just found out about you. Or maybe it can be passed on to your actual personal readable messages,,,
Otherwise I guess your fans/promoters would have a good read.
I only just realized you existed a month ago after your debut in MAN OF STEEL which I really saw to the end after the second viewing. I realized, aside from your unusual physique, you have a remarkably good-natured characteristic about yourself that came through in your acting and it got my attention, Unusual. Normally, I don't care.. cause most actors are gorgeous (with makeup) and full of it most times, at some point and totally unreachable. I decided to do a google search and looked into your background and found that my hunch was right, I never met you before but, you seem to promote a sense of reality, down to earth, normal, honest, family oriented.. (most importantly), casual approach to life as well as your morals and ideals. I've noticed the unusual patience you demonstrate to your fans, the time you take to consider others, and your true honesty in your responses to the many interviews you've had. You seem like a person to stop and have a casual convo. with on the street like nobody's business, very easy going, like the way it should be, you're human just like me in anycase...Right?
PARTIALLY A REASON I DECIDED TO TAKE TIME OFF MY WORK TO WRITE THIS thinking you're THE TYPE OF PERSON TO HAVE A READ YOURSELF OUT OF CURIOSITY & WHEN YOU DO FIND ANY TIME ALSO KINDLY LEAVE A GENUINE RESPONSE.
Anyways I just felt that it would be nice for you to realize that another person not bowled over by (lust or looks alone)who is similar minded as you are with strong moral values and in a quest to find true happiness that should exist in friendships based on honesty, fairness, open mindedness and compatibility, THINK, (I don't know you yet...) you are a genuine person. You're extremely, attractively PECULIAR to me to be so normal minded & well mannered that I consider you to be a good example so far...of what men should strive towards...at least in Hollywood!
Where I'm from in Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean, (you should travel here one day, tour guide no probs.) that's quite a common trait, we're accustomed to high moral, family oriented and strong back-boned individual upbringing and its quite REFRESHING to finally see a new guy, especially in your area of work as similar to these qualities as you seem to be are, that, I must post it!

  10. No offense. Henry is a great actor, handsome no doubt, but no God. Don't get me wrong I absolutely love the movies, and the arts but it cracks me up how people put actors and actress' up on a platform. If it means anything the best performers are those that stay humble and don't let it get to their head. Stay true to yourself as cliché as that sounds.

    1. Well, you're absolutely right. And Henry, like the best, is indeed very humble and always keeps a low profile, all to his credit. It's only us, his super fans, who go to extremes and become very silly worshiping him like a god. What can I say, I'm only human and guilty as charged, my anonymous friend! :D
